Nothing New

Nothing really exciting has been happening these last few days at our house. I went swimming yesterday and got to use my new goggles. They are really nice...! Swimming is so peaceful, just to go back and forth and back and forth, focus on your breathing, and think about stuff. There was this really weird guy in the lane next to me yesterday, that i swear after every lap, would stop for like 2 minutes and rub his thighs before taking off for another lap. I was like...what are you doing buddy...He came with like tight short speedos on, a swim cap, and goggles, like he was all professional or something, and then to keep taking breaks?...then he would stop sometimes in the deep end and would hang his arm over the lane rope to my lane and just stare. I would just keep swimming, and turn and swim back away from him once i completed my lap. It was bizarre...i couldn't tell if he wanted to talk to me, or if he had never seen a pregnant lady swim before. I just didn't get it.

Anyways, besides that, Adam has been hanging doors in the house this week. They look great! He borrowed a friends nail gun, and so it makes the process so smooth for him. After the doors, he will be on to the base board and trim around each door. The nail gun generator thing stays in the garage, which is nice for minimal inside noise, but when Adam shoots the nail gun, it scares the beejeesus out of Caeda which is surprising. Chloe, who we thought would be scared by it, just sleeps through it, and Caeda just flips out, and then tries to hide under the blanket that i have around me. The other day while he was working, i realized Caeda wasn't on me, the couch, or the heat pad that we have for her. I called her name, and she didn't come out from anywhere. I finally started searching, and after looking in every room upstairs, i decided to check downstairs, where she NEVER is unless we are. Sure enough, there was Caeda laying curled up in the corner of the couch on a small piece of blanket. She had had ENOUGH of the nail gun, and just wanted some peace. Adam and i thought it was Hilarious! After he is done working for the night, and i head into bed around 8 to relax before bed, Caeda is SO happy. She is pretty much in a dead sleeping coma around 8:30 because she is so exhausted from being worked up all night from the nail gun. It is pretty cute to see her completely passed out from exhaustion! Our poor baby :)

This weekend we don't have any crazy plans. Adam is going to work on the house tomorrow. Saturday we are going to the MN Tax Cut Rally at the State Capital, and then more house work. Sunday, i can only imagine will be church and then housework. Pretty low key, and non eventful.

What, no fruit

I am so used to seeing all of the pregnancy websites compare the baby to a piece of fruit. I came across a really funny site today that compares the baby to something totally different, and creative. I thought it was hilarious so thought i would share!

Were meeting my friend Matt who has been one of my best friends since 1st grade and his wife tonight at Fujyia in Mpls for dinner. It is his wife Sara's birthday!! Should be a great time!

Yummy!

The drink was TOTALLY not bad! They gave me the fruit punch one, which i guess is better then the orange drink. She handed it to me, and said "warning it's disgusting, and you have 5 minutes to drink it." I thought, way to set me up...your supposed to say...it's delicious, to make me think good thoughts. I took a sip, and was like...mmmm....and finished it in under1 minute. It really wasn't that bad. I was thinking horrible thoughts, like i was going to be drinking a huge drink of pepto bismol or a chalky flavor or something like that. Here it was about 8 ounces of a fruity drink.

My results came back today and i am totally clear. No diabetes, and my iron is fine. This means i don't have to go back for the 3 hour test. Thank God! The lady who took my blood pricked me, and said Happy Glucose (for good luck) and it obviously worked :)

Tonight i am going to go to this HUGE baby consignment sale off of 81 and 169 after work. It is at the Golf Dome so you know it will be worth it. Adam is going to work on the house tonight, and i am going to shop (and then go swim).

Tomorrow, our friend Katie Johnson is dancing with the Minnesota Dance Theatre in the Odyssey. We are going to see her perform there! HOW FUN! I love to watch dance, and Katie is AMAZING!

I am pretty sure the rest of the weekend will be spent with Adam working on the house, and me cleaning, or something fun like that. At least we have Friday to look forward to:)

Yucky Drink

I have my 24 week Dr appt today. Adam, who is not very good at keeping up with calendars, forgot we had our appointment today. He made plans with is brother who is in town to go golf with Tommy, and my brother Joey at Rush Creek this afternoon. He felt really bad when he started talking about golf last night, and i said "you didn't remember we had our Dr's appointment did you?" He felt guilty for missing his first appointment, and considered canceling the golf outing. I reminded him that the appointments last like 10 minutes, and this one shouldn't be a big deal. I called my mom and before i asked and had only explained Adam's situation to her, she said "I'd love to go to your appointment." After i hung up with her, i realized i felt bad that i didn't invite my dad, so i called back. My mom said that when she told my dad that she was invited he was like "what about me?" So...both my parents are going to come to this appointment. Even though they are VERY uneventful, and the worst part is stepping on the scale, they will at least be able to hear the babies heartbeat in person for the 1st time.

I decided i would call the Dr, just to make sure they didn't have a problem with them coming to the appt, which they said was fine, and the nurse asked if i was going to have my gestational diabetes test first. I said that i wasn't scheduled for that test. She said "oh, well you need to have that done during this appointment." So, she scheduled me to come in about 15 minutes early and drink the infamous YUCKY drink, and then go to my appointment, and then come back to the waiting room and sit for an hour and have my blood drawn. I have heard about this drink, and have mixed feelings about it. I will update with my thoughts after the appointment. Here i thought Adam could miss this appointment because it was a quickie and nothing different from the last few, but now i have to sit and wait forever for my testing? He should have to sit through that too, not be out in the beautiful weather golfing...just kidding, better that one of us can enjoy it :)

Weekend Recap and Pics

We had an alright weekend with a bit of a scare. Friday, we went to The View, which is the restaurant at the Calhoun Beach Club. We had patio seating and they allowed our dogs to sit with us, which was so nice. The waiter even brought out a HUGE water dish that both dogs literally could have swam in at the same time. He even put ice cubes in it for them. Joey and his friend Morgan came to meet us there for dinner. We ate and talked, and didn't end up leaving until around 10 pm. Saturday we woke up and went to Adams parents to celebrate Mark and Tiff's birthday's. We ate such a good lunch, and relaxed. When we got home, we found out that Caeda was pooping blood (sorry for the graphics). It was certainly scary! We called the ER vet, and my mom and decided that we would wait it out to see if she got better, which she did. We fed her a strict diet of rice, and being that she was still drinking, the risk of dehydration was low, which was the ER's main concern. We also saved about $200+ dollars. We were supposed to go to Carolyn's birthday party in uptown, but i couldn't leave Cadea the way she was. If something were to happen to her while we were gone i would die. So, Adam got me my birthday present early (Dance Dance Revolution 2 for Wii) and we stayed home and played that. This seemed like a great idea, and a great way for me to get some additional exercise besides just the pool, however, playing for 3 hours wasn't the best idea. I don't think my body is used to hopping around on a pad for that long carrying 20 extra pounds! I ended up hurting my knee and hobbled around for the rest of the night, and day on Sunday. I think i will continue to play, because it is so addicting, but will limit it to 30 minutes at a time.

Sunday, we went to church, went home and i took a nap while Adam played Tiger Woods Wii, and then we went to my parents house to have dinner with the family and celebrate my dad's belated birthday. Here are some pictures of Sunday...

My dad with Chloe...Caeda is just exhausted!!!.....I don't know why Adam has his arm around Joey...brotherly love?Uncle Joey...and Adam's pregnant stomach...looks like we are having twins, I'm carrying one and Adam is carrying one...haha! That is FOR REAL...i married a pretty talented man huh? We have our next Dr's appointment tomorrow afternoon. One of the quick ones...."my heartbeat is fine, babies heartbeat is fine, alright you can go now." Literally that is how fast they go...I'll update after the appointment :)

Movement

I am starting to feel the baby move around LOT'S in the last few days. It seems like every hour i feel a pretty large change. Sometimes it feels more like the baby is either shifting position, or sliding an arm or leg around in circles. Other times it just feels like a few punches. All of the movement is really low in my abdomen, or on either side of my lower stomach. More on my left side then my right. I have been able to feel a few times on the outside the last two days it move too. It has been very exciting to actually start to feel real, solid movement, not just flutters...and from the outside. Every time i feel it move, i put my hand on my stomach, and if it moves again, and i can feel it from the outside, i just smile big!

For some strange reason (and i thought i would never have the 'maternal gender feeling') i have been feeling like there is a little girl in there? I know Adam wants me to keep thinking boy thoughts, but i have a strange feeling it is going to be a girl...who knows why?

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DAD!

Yesterday was my dad's birthday! We gave him a 2 gallon tub of Schwans ice cream for his present. He used to eat one of those every two weeks. He has been trying to watch his cholesterol the last, oh say 5 years, and has not had Schwans ice cream...but Adam and I couldn't resist since the Schwans man has been coming to our house. I think my mom was a little upset when he opened the gift...oops!We gave him his gift two weekends ago at Chucks house where we had a big appetizer dinner with our whole family to celebrate Bridget and Chuck getting engaged.

And then this past Sunday, we went to my aunt and uncles house in Savage to celebrate EASTER! We ate a TON of food...or I ate a TON of food, and we relaxed and watched the Masters Tournament on TV.

It has been a great last few weeks. I think i am starting to get a little tired again, as by about 3pm i feel like i could take a nap. I am starting to pop out more as you can see in pictures, which is fun, and Adam was able to feel the baby move for the first time Easter morning. What a gift! He was 1/2 sleeping when it kicked, but he felt it, got excited, and then went back to sleep, while i laid awake waiting for it to stop :)

My friend and co worker Lisa gave and borrowed me TONS of maternity cloths, shorts, Capri's...I am so thankful for her! I don't think i will have to buy any maternity clothes throughout my entire pregnancy because of her. There is still a WHOLE bag of stuff that Caeda is climbing on above that has just as much clothes as spread out over the couch and chair!!!!

It was so much fun visiting with her, and going through all of the clothes she had, AND i got to see Emma Rose again. She had the hiccups during most of the time i was going through the clothes. She is already getting big and more beautiful by the day!

I am so excited to wear the clothes over the next 4 months.
