We're Pregnant!

So it is official! We are going to have a baby!

We had our first Doctor's appointment on December 23rd and we were able to see the heartbeat. The Doctor tried to hear the heartbeat and couldn't so we had our first ultrasound, and there it was. So incredible!

The little bugger had a heartbeat! It was very exciting and put our minds at ease that we were really going to have a baby. They determined that i am due August 5th, so i am about 9 weeks now. I have felt really great. No morning sickness...i have not gotten nauseous...it has been pretty darn easy so far. The downsides are the exhaustion, and breast tenderness. But besides that i feel pretty blessed to have a comfortable stomach, and feel good. I have managed to conduct my workouts indoors, being that it is pretty hard to take walks/run outdoors when the ground is icy. I have found a few great shows on FitTV, and Exercise TV on Demand (Thank you Comcast) that i really enjoy, and can workout right in my living room. We have officially decided NOT to figure out the sex of the baby...and this came with much deliberation (on my end). Adam didn't want to find out from the start, and i was on the fence, but after discussing, we decided that we will just do neutral, and be surprised when the baby pops out. I think we both have a feeling it is going to be a boy. Adam has that feeling because he really would like to have a boy (for obvious reasons), but continues to say, that he can't keep saying that he wants a boy because if we have a girl he doesn't want to make her feel bad. I think it is a boy because my grandma was super sick with the two girls, but when she was pregnant with my uncle, who unfortunately died when he was a few days old, she wasn't sick at ALL! I have been told by a few friends with boys and girls that they or their wives weren't sick with their boys...I guess we will know in August! We told our families and relatives and it was so fun to do so. We decided to have all of the relatives/parents pose for a pictures at the respective times we were with them, and Adam pulled out the video camera and explained that our video camera took pictures. He then said, "Ok, on the count of three, say it with me...Ana's pregnant!" You should have seen their faces...it was great! It will be nice to have that moment captured forever, and be able to show the little bean once he/she is older.

So i could post more about Christmas, but i think the highlight was the joy of telling our families that we are having a baby. I am excited and nervous about what the next 7 months will bring, but know i have so much support from friends and family, and can't wait to meet the little bean! Celine Here We Come

Tonight is the Celine Dion concert and i can hardly wait! The concert is at 8 and the doors open at 7. I am pretty sure we will be there at 6:58 to get in, get seated and prepare for the big night.
Even though i am bringing Adam, i really think he will like it. He likes music, and he things Celine has an amazing voice. I saw her in Vegas and man can she put on a show, so i think he will enjoy it. I will update tomorrow on how the concert was, but i am sure i will have NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT IT :)

I sure am ready for Christmas vacation. Two weekends ago we got ALL of our Christmas shopping done in ONE day. We made a list and stuck to it. We wrapped all of the gifts when we got home and they have been sitting under our tree for almost two weeks now.

I was working from home yesterday and Chloe was sitting on the back of the couch looking out the window. When it started snowing, Chloe started growling and barking out the window for a good 20 minutes. It was hilarious! I video taped it, and if i can figure out how to post those i will post it. I don't know if she just hasn't seen snow this year and doesn't remember it from last year, or if she just felt like barking. For those of you who know Chloe, she barely ever barks.

So the countdown begins...4 more days of work after today, and then 5 days off :) WO HOO!

OK, so i don't have folders on my work computer with pictures, i just have 'one' folder on my work computer with pictures, so i just went down to the sixth picture in my one folder and found this :)

I guess i am supposed to describe this picture...well...i know it was my dad's birthday this last April, and we all went over my parents house to celebrate. Actually it is a pretty funny story come to think of it. Every Christmas, my dad gives us all personalized calendars with pictures on it, and dates for all of the special events in our lives, birthdays, anniversary's, baptisms...So on my dad's birthday none of the kids called him to wish him a happy birthday. My mom said he was pretty depressed all day. At one point my mom said he was laying on the floor watching TV, and said, " you know, i give the kids calendars and you would think they would read it and know it was my birthday." Well little did he know we had a plan. My mom and dad were sitting outside by the lake having a cocktail, and we pulled up with gifts and balloons and the dogs and opened the gate to the backyard quietly. Then we ran down the yard yelling happy birthday. You should have seen my dad's face...DISBELIEF! It was a great moment, he loves being with us on his birthday, and it was just great to be able to surprise him like that! With that being said, i have NO idea why we are holding up 10 fingers/moose ears...?

Thanksgiving - Present...presents? :)

Thanksgiving was great. Ate way too much, and was exhausted by the end of the night. We spent Thursday morning with Adams family and ate a lot of turkey. We left there around 2:00 to head to my parents house. My family always plays games like Guesstures, and Catch Phrase all afternoon until around 6 or 7 when we eat. It is loud, and hilarious! We once again ate a TON of food at my parents and left around 10. Some friends had been texting us through out the night and wanted us to go up to Champps where there was a live band. Both Adam and i were exhausted, but wanted to see our friends so we decided to go for ONE drink. Which we actually did! We got home and went straight to bed. The weekend was pretty relaxing, we really didn't do much. We had some people over to play Foosball, and relaxed.

Monday, i traveled to Harvard in Boston for work. It was beautiful weather 60 degrees...and the campus was as well. We landed around 11:30 and went to meet with career services at Harvard. Then we had a cocktail event for the MBA students at the Charles Hotel, and then went to dinner at a nice Italian restaurant around 10 pm. I didn't go to bed until around 11:30, and had to wake up at 7 to catch a plane to Philadelphia at 9:30 am. We got to Phili and grabbed a quick bite, headed to our hotel, and went for a quick shopping spree before having to meet up with Wharton's career services for lunch. We had a cocktail reception for the Wharton MBA students that night and then went out to this little place for some Japanese food (Excellent!). We got to relax a bit on Wednesday morning as our flight didn't leave until 11:30, so i ordered room service, and worked from bed! We arrived to MSP at around 2:30 and i went home to work for the rest of the afternoon. It was good to be home. Last night Adam and I watched the rest of the second Narnia, which i HIGHLY recommend, and Step Brothers, which was HILARIOUS!!!

Tonight, I am going to take Adam to Lindy's steakhouse, YEAH BETHEL!!! and then to the Bethel Christmas Concert. I couldn't be more excited! Tomorrow we are going to decorate for Christmas and then meet my co workers around at Sunsets for cocktails, before going to the Lafayette Club for our work Christmas party. I am looking forward to this weekend, with all of the holiday festivities!

"Disappear after 1"

Our president sent out a company wide email yesterday saying "Please feel free to dress casually tomorrow and "disappear" after 1:00 pm if you'd like. Happy Thanksgiving to All~" What a nice email huh! I think our office is going to be pretty dead in an hour and a half. We are going to go to Adams parents for Thanksgiving in the morning, and than to my parents house for Thanksgiving in the evening. We are going to be stuffed! Besides Thanksgiving day, we really don't have many plans for the weekend. It will be so nice to have a long weekend full of relaxing, and NO PLANS :) I leave for Boston on Monday, and then fly to Philadelphia on Tuesday, back home on Wednesday. We have our MBA events that i coordinated at Harvard and Wharton. The trips are a lot of work but a lot of fun. It gives me some awesome face time with a few our top executives. I enjoy planning the events, and say a prayer that nothing catastrophic happens! Adam is going to the Wild game tonight, so i am currently looking for plans :) Maybe my brother Joey wants to hang out with me :) If you are watching the game tonight keep your eyes out for Adam. It maybe a week before i blog again, unless i have time while i am on my trip. If so, i will try to post some pictures while i am away...HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!

I found out this afternoon that we don't have to wait until February to see Celine :) She re-RE-scheduled to December 18th!! Good news huh? EXCITING!

Caeda's Aching Heart

UPDATE: My co-worker and friend Lisa instant messaged me and told me that HER Cada (which we named our Caeda after) has a heart murmur too. She said that they are pretty common in dogs, and her Cada is feisty as well. Although the pictures posted below may seem different :) That made me feel a lot better! Here is the Reberg's Cada...who is SO cute! The first picture looks like Cada misses Caeda and wants to play. Thanks Lisa!!




"So" i realized today when looking back at one of my blogs and then scrolling up, that i start just about every blog with the word "so"....i suck :)

On a different note, yesterday i took both Chloe and Caeda in to the vet for their yearly check ups. Everything was going fine, we were in the exam room, and the vet checked Chloe first. Chloe HATES the vet. She hid in her kennel the whole time she wasn't being examined, and peeked out shaking. The vet went to check her ears, and as soon as the little ear checker pointy thing went in her ear, Chloe screamed bloody murder. The vet laughed, and tried again. (She laughed because Chloe's scream sounds like a high pitched bird squawking). She thought that Chloe might have had an ear infection, but besides that everything was fine. Chloe FINALLY broke the 3 pound mark, and weighed in at 3 pounds exactly. They took her back to check her ears to be SURE that there was no infection, which there wasn't, and then the vet started to check out Caeda. Cadea, loves the vet, she sniffs around at everything. When the vet went to check Caedas ears, she just bent down and sniffed all of the cool doctors instruments laying on the table. Ears were fine, teeth were fine, weight was fine (3 1/2 lbs), then the doctor went to check her heart. She listened, and looked at her watch...listened, and looked at her watch...listened, and looked at her watch. I started to get nervous, being that the vet only listened to Chloe's heart for a few seconds. She looked up at me, and asked if anything had ever been brought up about Caeda's heart in the past, and i told her no. She told me that she heard a possible heart murmur. :( She said they rate them on a scale of 1 - 10, and Caeda was at a 1, but she said we need to bring her back in in 2 months to have them listen again. All this time, we thought Chloe was going to be the one to have medical issues. She has always had bad knees, and is so small, we just figured we would always have to worry about medical issues with Chloe, not Caeda. It just about broke my heart...Caeda is the strong, feisty one, who is brave, and curious, and unstoppable. So, say a prayer for Caeda, that this was just a fluke, and we will never hear a murmur again! Needless to say, Caeda got a lot of cuddles from mom and dad last night, and Caeda slept in my arms all night!

A little slow...

So i am a little slow, like i said when i originally started this blog, with technology. BUT! As you can see, i finally figured out how to change my background template...it is SO exciting! I think my new favorite thing to do is going to be changing the background A LOT!

So it is posted on their blog, so i feel i can post it on mine now too....Steph and Brandt are going to have another little baby!!! SO EXCITING!!! Congrats guys! I mean, it only makes sense since you make such beautiful babies!!!

UPDATE

So i have a few things to update all on...first Halloween was SO much fun! We had a lot of fun dressed up, and let me tell you, EVERYONE was dressed up. We had Sweeney Todd, Buddy the Elf, The Joker (he literally went around all night in character as the Joker {Heath Ledger}). It was a great night, but i still think that we had the best costumes. On a different note...today i came home and let the dogs out, and what do i see Caeda playing with?Yes...My BRA.....I tell you, those dogs will get into anything you leave laying around.

OK...so my final pictures for the evening. Mark (Adams brother) and his girlfriend are having a baby in December and their baby shower is this weekend. Andrea (Adam's mom) asked me to be in charge of the center piece. We talked this weekend when Adam and i were over at the Heerens about the center piece and i said that i would pick up balloons. After contemplating what i was going to buy them for the shower i realized i could incorporate the centerpiece and the gift in one...sooooooooo. ( I think i should go into business, because this is pretty good). Also, note i did this in steps:

FINALLY

All i have to say is FINALLY NO MORE POLITICAL ADS! Not on the Radio, TV, billboards....it is all done! I tell you, this year there was some nasty ads going around, and i DID NOT APPROVE. I have been waiting for this election to be over, primarily so that the ads would stop.

The bug is going around

So Adam and i have been sick pretty much since Sunday. We went golfing at Rush Creek on Saturday, and it was freezing out (according to me). I think that was the kicker. We played until it was dark out, literally. We couldn't see where our balls landed on the 18th hole. I think we lost close to 10 balls. Sunday, either of us didn't feel to hot. Adam is home today fighting the nose and throat bug. I am going to go home and make some chicken noodle soup for him semi homemade style :)

We had the Celine Dion concert to go to tomorrow, which i found out today is postponed until Feb 5th! BUMMER. WE bought the tickets last year, and i have been WAITING FOREVER to see her, and it was only a day away. Then all my dreams shattered when i read it was postponed. Well i guess it will give us something WONDERFUL to look forward to in February.

I am taking the day off on Friday, originally it was just to relax after the concert, but now it is just going to be a day of R & R for myself. I will probably paint my nails, take a bath, watch the regular girl shows (Ellen, Oprah, Rachel Ray, and Judge Judy), do a bit of cleaning, and get ready for Halloween. I think we are going to go to our friend JT's house, who we went golfing with at Rush Creek last Saturday. Did i mention JT works there and he got Adam, Jim, and myself out with carts golfing for FREE!!! He is having a Halloween costume party, and i have Adam and my costumes all ready. Adam is going to be Sergeant "Dick Amazing":

And i am going to be the female version of Freddy Krueger. I bought the Glove, and then found a cute sweater dress at Forever 21 and am going to wear that with a Fedora, and fish nets i bought there and tall black suede cuff boots. I think it was a pretty creative idea...

I think that the party should be a lot of fun...we have not been to a Halloween party in two years, so it will be fun to get out and celebrate! Besides that our weekend will be pretty open, we may head to my godfathers to help cut wood on Saturday, depending on how we feel, and then i think we are going to try to go to the apple orchard on Sunday. They have Dog Days there, so we have to bring Caeda and Chloe out before it is too cold for their liking.

Spring Cleaning...More Like Fall Cleaning

So not much has been going on at the Heeren home. We have been doing a lot of Fall cleaning this week. We have two Huge trees in our front yard and everyday Adam is outside with the blower blowing the leaves and then mowing over them. Everyday he comes home from work to find the same amount of leaves he mowed over the day before on the ground. Frustrating trees!

It seems like just when you get everything clean, it is dirty again, whether it be dishes, laundry, dusting, vacuuming...the works, like a revolving door. I think some heavy cleaning was in need for our house before the snow flies.

Our weekends have managed to be very busy the past few weeks.

Two weekends ago, we went golfing on the 11th with Joey and JT, and then went to Chucks for Seth's going away party. He moved to FL to work for the Jaguars. Sunday we went over to Angel and Joe's and ate lunch, and played some lawn games. It was great to see them! Our dogs also loved it because they have a HUGE yard and the dogs could run free. They were absolutely exhausted when we got home.

Last weekend we went out to an early dinner on Friday, and then hung out with our neighbors at night, and had a bonfire. I did a bit of Shopping on Saturday during the day, (Got 2 cute pairs of shoes for 50% off!) Saturday night we went to the W Hotel in the Foshay tower for Alison and Aadam's birthday parties. It was a lot of fun, and great to see the Bethel folks! Sunday we didn't do much but relax with the dogs.

This week we are going to do a bunch of cleaning, and we are having my grandma and grandpa, and parents over on Friday for a bit, as my grandparents have not seen our house yet. (This is what sprung the "Fall Cleaning.") Besides that this weekend we surprisingly don't' have any plans! It will be nice to have one weekend where we can make plans day by day.


Oh, my mom sent some new pictures of the dogs. I know...what do you do when you don't have kids...post pictures of the doggies, which are sort of like our kids????

What can i say...i love our poopies!

I Colored My Hair :)

Yep, i did it, i colored my hair. I don't think i have colored my hair since college...maybe once since college, but i had a coupon, and went to get it colored and cut, well...trimmed. It is dark, and i LOVE IT! I got my hair cut, colored and my eyebrows waxed all for the price of....$40.50. Can you believe it! I don't have a picture yet of it, but maybe i will take a few tonight and post them along with the shelves Adam hung... YEAH FOR ME!

Chores - Gotta love them!

So i don't have that much to update as far as what has been going on with Adam and I. We have been trying to get some things done around the house before we hibernate. Our watersoftner was leaking about a week and a half ago, and being that it was 12 years old we decided to purchase a new one. Adam spent last Friday with our neighbor in the basement installing it, and i have to say they did a great job. We also bought curtain hooks for our curtains in the living room and kitchen. I think i obtained that idea because i am already getting depressed about how dark it is in both the morning and the evening, and that holding the curtains back would at least let a little more light in. (not likely) We bought some great new curtains for our bathroom. We had the pull down curtains before, where if they didn't latch right they would pull right up and coil quickly, and the bottom half of the window was the old school saloon looking panels that opened. (UGLY). Finally, we bought some really great shelves for our living room on the wall where the TV is mounted. Adam got 3 of the 4 hung last night while he watched the Vikings game. I'll try to take pictures and post them soon!


We had our good friends Megan and Steve's wedding last Saturday in St Paul. It was a beautiful wedding, and we had a great time. My favorite part besides dancing at the reception was watching Megan walk down the isle. The way she looked at Steve and vice versa and how the light from the stained glass window behind her reflected off of the back of her head and surrounded her was amazing.


Sorry if this offends anyone, but i have to mention the funny shirt i bought Adam yesterday.

Besides that things are relatively normal around the casa. Work has been great, staying busy through this financially trying time. Looking forward to the upcoming holidays (besides the snow, this is my favorite time of year).

Jesus, bring Your healing touch to Ali and Luke who have suffered the loss of their unborn child through a miscarriage. We believe that life begins at conception and that this baby is now with You. Still, the pain of loss is great. We loved this child from the moment we knew of the baby's existence.
We know this unborn child will never experience the joys of life on this earth. Yet our hope in eternal life remains firm. Help us to remember this child in prayer often, whom we will one day meet in heaven with You. The baby's parents may give birth to other children, yet this unborn child will always be special to them. Please dry their tears and strengthen their faith in You, who are the source of all goodness and love. Amen.

I did WHAT last night

So i fell asleep around 10 pm last night, and woke up around 2:30 am and could NOT fall back asleep for the life of me! After far too long tossing and turning in bed with a million thoughts running through my head i decided to turn on the TV. I watched the movie "Stranger than Fiction" and realized at 4:30 am i could fall back asleep. I got to work today and Adam called and asked if i remembered talking in my sleep last night. "I what??" I have NEVER talked in my sleep according to Adam, so it was quite a strange experience for him. I always fall asleep before Adam. I think he enjoys having control of the remote after i fall asleep, so he is usually awake until around midnight. At around 11 pm he came back into our bedroom where i had been sleeping the past hour. I must have subconsciously heard him moving around because apparently i started talking to him. Here is how the conversation went, again according to Adam:

(Talking with my eyes closed)
Ana: Adam do you have the Job Description.
Adam: For what?
Ana: For Caeda and Chloe (Yes, those are our dogs)
Adam: What are you talking about, what job description?
Ana: For the Analyst position?
Adam: (By this point he said he was laughing hysterically!) What are you talking about?
Ana: I need to get the job description!
Adam: You are going to hire our dogs?
Ana: Yes, the Analyst position for Caeda and Chloe
(My eyes opened)
Ana: Adam, this isn't funny stop laughing at me, i am serious would you answer me?
Adam: (Laughing even harder) I have no idea what you are talking about are you awake?
Ana: Yes, i am awake and you are not answering me.
Adam: (Still laughing) Are you serous?
Ana: You never listen i need the job description for Caeda and Chloe

Adam keeps laughing, and i guess i got so annoyed and laid down and went back to sleep!
CRAZY! What was i thinking? Apparently work has gotten to me so much that i even want to hire my dogs!

This weekend we are going to be busy bee's! Tonight we are going to Club Jager to celebrate Aadam Peters returning from Seattle. Should be somewhat of a college reunion. Tomorrow we have the Bethel Homecoming game at 1. Adam is going to golf with our neighbor before hand. Saturday night we are going to go out to eat with Ali and Luke. Sunday we have Lily's birthday party at the Heerens, should be fun watching her open all of her gifts!

WOW-it's been a while

So Ali called me today and told me that i need to update my blog. I agree. It has been a month. Let's try to recap here with some pictures of what the last month of my life has been like :)

The final set of pictures was our cabin adventure over labor day weekend at my godfathers cabin on Sullivan Lake. It was relaxing and just what the doctor ordered. We even took Tuesday off for it. It was raining that day, but it was nice because we just stayed inside and did a puzzle.

The last day we were at the cabin we brought the top of our wedding cake over and we all got to eat some. YUMMY! After a year of being in the freezer it still tasted just as good as it did the day we were married. OK maybe not just as good, but it was still good!

They say a picture is worth 1,000 words, so basically i just wrote 16,000 words...good for me!
