Weekend Recap and Pics

We had an alright weekend with a bit of a scare. Friday, we went to The View, which is the restaurant at the Calhoun Beach Club. We had patio seating and they allowed our dogs to sit with us, which was so nice. The waiter even brought out a HUGE water dish that both dogs literally could have swam in at the same time. He even put ice cubes in it for them. Joey and his friend Morgan came to meet us there for dinner. We ate and talked, and didn't end up leaving until around 10 pm. Saturday we woke up and went to Adams parents to celebrate Mark and Tiff's birthday's. We ate such a good lunch, and relaxed. When we got home, we found out that Caeda was pooping blood (sorry for the graphics). It was certainly scary! We called the ER vet, and my mom and decided that we would wait it out to see if she got better, which she did. We fed her a strict diet of rice, and being that she was still drinking, the risk of dehydration was low, which was the ER's main concern. We also saved about $200+ dollars. We were supposed to go to Carolyn's birthday party in uptown, but i couldn't leave Cadea the way she was. If something were to happen to her while we were gone i would die. So, Adam got me my birthday present early (Dance Dance Revolution 2 for Wii) and we stayed home and played that. This seemed like a great idea, and a great way for me to get some additional exercise besides just the pool, however, playing for 3 hours wasn't the best idea. I don't think my body is used to hopping around on a pad for that long carrying 20 extra pounds! I ended up hurting my knee and hobbled around for the rest of the night, and day on Sunday. I think i will continue to play, because it is so addicting, but will limit it to 30 minutes at a time.

Sunday, we went to church, went home and i took a nap while Adam played Tiger Woods Wii, and then we went to my parents house to have dinner with the family and celebrate my dad's belated birthday. Here are some pictures of Sunday...

My dad with Chloe...Caeda is just exhausted!!!.....I don't know why Adam has his arm around Joey...brotherly love?Uncle Joey...and Adam's pregnant stomach...looks like we are having twins, I'm carrying one and Adam is carrying one...haha! That is FOR REAL...i married a pretty talented man huh? We have our next Dr's appointment tomorrow afternoon. One of the quick ones...."my heartbeat is fine, babies heartbeat is fine, alright you can go now." Literally that is how fast they go...I'll update after the appointment :)

Movement

I am starting to feel the baby move around LOT'S in the last few days. It seems like every hour i feel a pretty large change. Sometimes it feels more like the baby is either shifting position, or sliding an arm or leg around in circles. Other times it just feels like a few punches. All of the movement is really low in my abdomen, or on either side of my lower stomach. More on my left side then my right. I have been able to feel a few times on the outside the last two days it move too. It has been very exciting to actually start to feel real, solid movement, not just flutters...and from the outside. Every time i feel it move, i put my hand on my stomach, and if it moves again, and i can feel it from the outside, i just smile big!

For some strange reason (and i thought i would never have the 'maternal gender feeling') i have been feeling like there is a little girl in there? I know Adam wants me to keep thinking boy thoughts, but i have a strange feeling it is going to be a girl...who knows why?

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DAD!

Yesterday was my dad's birthday! We gave him a 2 gallon tub of Schwans ice cream for his present. He used to eat one of those every two weeks. He has been trying to watch his cholesterol the last, oh say 5 years, and has not had Schwans ice cream...but Adam and I couldn't resist since the Schwans man has been coming to our house. I think my mom was a little upset when he opened the gift...oops!We gave him his gift two weekends ago at Chucks house where we had a big appetizer dinner with our whole family to celebrate Bridget and Chuck getting engaged.

And then this past Sunday, we went to my aunt and uncles house in Savage to celebrate EASTER! We ate a TON of food...or I ate a TON of food, and we relaxed and watched the Masters Tournament on TV.

It has been a great last few weeks. I think i am starting to get a little tired again, as by about 3pm i feel like i could take a nap. I am starting to pop out more as you can see in pictures, which is fun, and Adam was able to feel the baby move for the first time Easter morning. What a gift! He was 1/2 sleeping when it kicked, but he felt it, got excited, and then went back to sleep, while i laid awake waiting for it to stop :)

My friend and co worker Lisa gave and borrowed me TONS of maternity cloths, shorts, Capri's...I am so thankful for her! I don't think i will have to buy any maternity clothes throughout my entire pregnancy because of her. There is still a WHOLE bag of stuff that Caeda is climbing on above that has just as much clothes as spread out over the couch and chair!!!!

It was so much fun visiting with her, and going through all of the clothes she had, AND i got to see Emma Rose again. She had the hiccups during most of the time i was going through the clothes. She is already getting big and more beautiful by the day!

I am so excited to wear the clothes over the next 4 months.

Anterior Placenta

We had our "after the ultrasound" check up yesterday. All went well! They ruled out 246 things that could have been wrong with baby, which means things are looking to progress smoothly throughout the remainder of the pregnancy. Now all that is left for the baby to do during the next four months of COOKING is grow fingernails, eyelashes, and practical things like that. He also did a great job of explaining my anterior placenta that the ultrasound tech told me about. It means that the baby is taking a backseat to the placenta. Most of the time a fertilized egg will attach to the part of the uterus closest to the spine (or the backside) allowing the thin layer of the uterus to be exposed on the front side (or belly side) where all of the nerves are. My fertilized egg attached to the front side of the uterus with the baby behind it. This location makes no difference to the baby. To me, I am less able to feel the baby's early kicks and punches because the placenta will serve as a cushion between the baby and my tummy. For the same reason, it is harder and will take longer for Adam to feel the baby's movements from the outside of my tummy. Thankfully my anterior placenta is not laying low in my uterus, rather is high, which if low, could partially or completely block off the cervix (and the baby's way out which would make a cesarean section necessary).

All this said, it really makes no difference where the placenta is, it will just take longer for me to feel that baby moving around or doing cartwheels in there. It made me feel great knowing this is the case because i was getting a bit worried about not feeling the baby move, thinking something maybe wrong, but as soon as we saw the little baby moving during the ultrasound, it reassured me that indeed it was moving, and the reason behind why i couldn't feel it was explained. It was also moving around quite a bit during the doppler yesterday to hear the heartbeat. Everytime you hear static while listening to the heartbeat the baby is moving, and the dr chuckled, and said, this baby sure is moving around a lot. I smiled :) even though i can't feel it, i know it is still doing flips :)

It will just be that much more exciting when i am feeling it often and more intense as the anticipation will grow with each week. I also am excited for Adam to be able to feel the baby...every time i do feel it move (which isn't all that often) i let Adam know, and he runs in and puts his hand on my belly, even though we both know it may be weeks before he can feel it still. I know he is excited for that moment!
